If there is a problem in the start relay circuit, starter solenoid would not be operated. The purpose of the inspection is to check start relay circuit.
Disconnect the start relay from the U/H junction box.
Connect jump wire between terminal "30" and "87" of the start relay(Junction box side).
Check if starter works.
Does starter work properly?
YES
Go to "Start relay control circuit inspection" procedure.
NO
Check for open between terminal "87" of the start relay and "S" terminal of the starter.
IG "START"
Measure the voltage between terminal "85" of the start relay(Junction box side) and chassis ground.
Probe(+) : Terminal "85" of the U/H junction box.
Probe(-) : Chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. B+
Is the measured voltage within Specification?
YES
Faulty start relay
Check for open between terminal "86" of the start relay(Junction box side) and chassis ground.
NO
Check for Transaxle range switch(A/T) or Ignition lock switch(M/T).
Go to "Burglar alarm relay circuit Inspection" procedure.
