If engine stalls intermittently, Perform trouble shooting by approaching classified system. If symptom of the Engine stalling is similar to symptom of poor acceleration, the reason of engine stalling could be fuel system. For that reason fuel system should be checked first. The purpose of inspection is to check fuel pump by measuring fuel pressure.

Check fuel pressure of the fuel pressure gauge. (Check fuel pressure at idle, accelerating and stall test)

Specification : Approx. 375~385 kpa (3.82 ~ 3.92 kg/㎠, 54.3 ~ 55.8 psi ) at idle (Fuel pressure is kept after stopping of engine.)

Is fuel pressure normal?

YES

Fuel pump is OK.

NO

Replace the fuel pump assembly.

■ Performance test of fuel pump by ampere meter

1. Install ampere meter to power supply harness of the fuel pump after starting engine.

2. Measure ampere of power supply harness accelerating engine.
