Check the operation of the injector when the engine is cranked.
If the fuel pump works well by fuel pump actuation test, Check the "Injector" first in the expected faults.
IG "START"
Hold the injector with hand.
Check the operation of the injector when the engine is cranked.
Is injector operated normally?
YES
Injector is OK
If there is leakage from injector, Impossible starting could be caused by fuel lock . Therefore if injector is operated well, leakage of fuel inspection should be checked.
■ Fuel leakage from injector Inspection
1. Remove Injector and delivery pipe assembly.
2. Connect a scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
3. IG "ON"
4. Perform the actuation test of the fuel pump.
5. Check fuel leakage from injectors.
▶ If there is fuel leakage from injectors, Replace the injector.
NO
Go to "Injector power circuit Inspection" procedure as below.
IG "OFF"
Disconnect Injector connector.
IG "ON"
Measure the voltage between terminal "1" of the injector harness connector and chassis ground.
Probe(+) : Terminal "1" of the Injector harness connector
Probe(-) : Chassis ground
Specification : Approx. B+
Is the measured voltage within Specification?
YES
Go to "Injector control circuit insepction" procedure.
NO
Check for open or short to chassis ground between Injector harness connector and Engine Control relay.
Check Sensor 1(Injector) fuse(10A) on the U/H junction box.
IG "OFF"
Disconnect injector harness connector.
IG "ON"
Measure the voltage between terminal "2" of the injector harness connector and chassis ground.
Probe(+) : Terminal "2" of the Injector harness connector
Probe(-) : Chassis ground
Specification : Approx. 0V
Is the measured voltage within Specification?
YES
Faulty Injector
NO
Check for open between injector harness connector and PCM harness connector.
Check for short to chassis ground between injector harness connector and PCM harness connector.
