Description
caution

When removing the part of high pressure fuel system, wait for 30~60 seconds and check the pressure relief then proceed your job. And make sure to wear your protective glasses while you are working and keep cleaning your surroundings.

Foreign material may cause other problem in fuel system.

For the exact test fuel system install the CRT-1000 and diagnose vehicle.

Diagnostic procedure
Installation of CRT-1000 (Common Rail Tester) in the fuel system
1.

Stop the engine with IG key "OFF"

2.

Remove air cleaner assembly from the vehicle

3.

Decouple the fuel delivery hose of function block.

- While decoupling the fuel hose make sure not to flow out fuel and contaminate system.

4.

Install fuel pressure gauge between the removed fuel hose couplings

- Use the low fuel pressure gauge(CRT-1051),gauge tube(CRT-1052) and adaptor (CRT-1053) for low pressure gauge.

5.

Install air cleaner assembly.

6.

Remove the high pressure fuel pipe which is connected to iniectors from common rail.

- Clean the fitting region of high pressure fuel pipe not to be contaminated and then remove it.

7.

Attatch the dust cap (CRT-1035) on the injector side nipple so that foreign material not to come in.

8.

Attatch regulator valve (CRT-1020) and three M14mm plugs (CRT-1021) on the nipple of the common rail side .

A.

Specified torque : 2.5~2.9Kgf.m

9.

Remove the return hose of rail pressure regurator of common rail and plug it using the injector return hose plug (CRT-1033).

10.

Attatch transparent hose and flask (CRT-1030) at the regulator valve (CRT-1020) and return nipple of rail pressure regulator.

11.

After removal of rail pressure sensor,attatch high pressure gauge (CRT-1040) and adaptor (CRT-1043).

12.

Remove all connectors of injector, fuel pressur regulator and rail pressure regulator.

13.

Connect dummy at the connector of rail pressure regulator.

- If not connecting dummy, DTC related rail pressure regulator occurs and no fuel is supplied to the high pressure pump due to fail safe function-deactivation of injector and fuel pump relay.

- If there is no dummy,remove fuel pump relay and actuate fuel pump motor by using a jump wire as shown below.

14.

Using rail pressure regulator valve cable (CRT-1044), supply power to rail pressure regulator and atuate it.

- Do not exceed 3 minutes when actuating rail pressure regulator. (Make sure not to increase temperature too much)

15.

While cranking the engine, check the pressure rising condition.
