Before excessive exhaust smoke inspection, Blow the particle material (PM) in the exhaust pipe, catalytic converter and muffler would be discharged.
Inspect the coolant, engine oil and ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid).
Inspect contamination of air cleaner.
- In case that there is contamination of air cleaner, Replace or clean the air cleaner.
Monitor "DTC"s
Warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature , park the vehicle on level ground and select "N" range.
Turn electric devices and air conditioner off.
Perform idle racing to maximum rpm within 2 seconds. (keep idle racing for 2 seconds.)
Repeat 3 times 6th procedure.
Keep idle for 5 ~ 6 seconds after accelerating before idle racing.
Inspect excessive black smoke after blowing the particle material (PM).
Case 1 : In case that excessive black smoke is decreased largely after blowing the particle material (PM). (Black smoke in the exhaust pipe, catalytic converter and muffler is discharged through muffler.)
Engine system is normal.
Case 2 : In case that excessive black smoke is same after blowing the particle material (PM).
Go to "Each inspection" procedure after checking symptoms.
