When charging the battery, refer to following precautions and charge the battery correctly.
1. Never let the vehicle near flammable things and Inspection place must be well ventilated because hydrogen is generated.
2. Connect cables of the battery charger orderly to the battery after checking battery terminal condition.
- Connection : Connect (+) terminal after connecting (-) terminal.
- Disconnection : Disconnect (-) terminal after disconnecting (+) terminal.
3. Charge up the battery with low current for a long time because quick charging is not good to battery.
4. Battery temperature should be below 52℃.
5. If battery fluid overflow after boiling and excessive hydrogen is discharged, Stop charging the battery immediately. (Recharge the battery after cooling down battery temperature.)
If battery is discharged, recheck the battery after charging the battery.
Prepare the battery charger and battery.
Connect the battery charger to battery and check selectors on the battery charger as below.
1) Select "charge" position on the function selector.
2) Select "12V" on the rate selector.
3) Select "0" on the voltage control selector.
4) Select "manual position" on the charging time selector.
Turn power switch on.
Connect to battery using charging cable. (Red tongs : battery (+) terminal, Black tongs : battery (-) terminal.)
- If battery is on the vehicle, Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable certainly. (For protection against over voltage according to rapid change of electric load and wrong operation.)
Monitor the voltage on the voltage meter.
Control the charging voltage using voltage control selector.
- Current is displayed by discharging condition. (The more battery is discharged, the more high current is displayed.)
Charging voltage : 15.0 ~ 16.0 V
Control charging time using charging time selector for protection against over current if necessary.
Initial charging current is decided by battery discharging state.
- Battery is discharged : charging current is high. (at same voltage)
- Battery is charged : charging current is low. (at same voltage)
The more battery charging is advanced, the more charging current is low.
- If battery voltage keeps 15.0 ~ 16.0 V when current on the current meter is below 5A, Battery is charged completely.
