Description
caution

First of all check damage of harness and terminals : Check terminals for contact resistance, corrosion and deformation.

Perform the battery load test to inspect battery. (Battery has been on charge fully.)

Diagnostic Procedure
Battery load test
1.

IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF"

2.

Install the ampere meter and multitester.

3.

Disconnect the main relay on the E/R compartment junction box for impossible starting.

4.

IG KEY "START"

5.

Measure the flow current and voltage drop.

6.

Battery voltage should be above 9.8 V while engine cranking.

7.

Flow current should be above 150 A while engine cranking. (Flow current can be changed by engine temperature and starter capacity.)

A.

Case 1 : In case that battery voltage is dropped below 9.8 V and flow current is dropped rapidly while engine cranking (load is applied).

Replace the battery.

B.

Case 2 : In case that battery voltage is above 9.8 V and flow current is regular while engine cranking (load is applied).

Reuse the battery (Battery is good) after checking the battery case and terminals.
