Are any DTCs present ?
YES
a.
Refer to the 4WD dignostic part to find a cause of fault.
If there is no problem in 4WD, Substitute with a known-good HECU and check for proper operation.
If problem is corrected, replace HECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

The ECU mounted in the wrong type of car may be a cause. (2WD ECU in 4WD vehicle)

a.
Fault is intermittent caused by faulty HECU or was repaired and HECU memory was not cleared. go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
