Description

PCM includes power TR which controls ignition coil. According to CKPS/CMPS signals PCM controls the base of the power TR. The purpose of inspection is to check a ignition coil.

Diagnostic Procedure
Ignition coil power circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF"

2.

Disconnect the connection(with control harness) connector(CC01).

3.

Check pin connections of the connection(with control harness) connector(CC01).

4.

Are pin connections of connection(with control harness) connector(CC01) and harness normal?

YES

Go to "Ignition coil resistance Inspection" procedure as below.

NO

Repair(Replace) the pin connections of connection(with control harness) connector(CC01) and harness.

Ignition coil resistance Inspection
5.

IG "OFF"

6.

Measure primary resistance after removing ignition coil connectors. (Primary resistance is measured between (+) terminals and (-) terminals.)

7.

Measure secondary resistance after removing a ignition coil. (Secondary resistance is measured between (+) terminals and center terminals.)

A.

Specification :

Primary Coil resistance : 0.62 ± 10% Ω

Secondary Coil resistance : 7.0 ± 15% kΩ

8.

Are the primary and secondary resistance of the ignition coil normal?

YES

Ignition coil is OK.

NO

Replace the ignition coil.

caution
