Monitor "Fuel pressure measured" whether it is similar with "Fuel pressure set point" and stable.
If engine stalls with sudden poor accelerate symptom, classify the cause of engine stalls.
Engine stalling would be caused by abnormal fuel system, intake/exhaust system leakage, abnormal EGR system, abnormal VGT system.
IG KEY "ON", ENGINE "ON".
Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature.
Electrical system and A/CON "OFF".
Select "Fuel pressure measured", "Fuel pressure set point", "Engine speed sensor", "Rail pressure regulator (rail)", "Injection pump regulator (pump)", "Fuel temperature" parameter on the scantool.
Monitor "Rail pressure regulator (rail)", "Injection pump regulator (pump)" at fuel temperature 50 ~ 70℃, engine speed 750 rpm (idle).
Monitor "Fuel pressure measured" whether it is similar with "Fuel pressure set point" and stable.
Select "Fuel pressure measured", "Fuel pressure set point" and "Engine speed sensor" parameter on the scantool and Change the screen to the graph function.
Monitor "Fuel pressure measured" whether it is similar with "Fuel pressure set point" at stall test.
"Stall Test" of "Details Inspection(Equipment Setting)" reference
Case 1 : In case that data of fuel system are normal and "Rail pressure measured" is controlled well by "Fuel pressure set point".
Go to "EGR & MAFS inspection" procedure.
Case 2 : In case that "Rail pressure measured" is unstable or "Rail pressure regulator (rail), (pump)" is abnormal. Also, "Fuel pressure measured" is not similar with "Fuel pressure set point" at stall test.
Poor acceleration occurs or Engine stalls.
Go to "Low fuel pressure inspection" procedure.
Case 3 : In case that "Rail pressure measured" is higher than "Fuel pressure set point" and Engine stalls.
Go to "High fuel pressure inspection" procedure.
Case 4 : In case that Data of fuel system are normal, "Rail pressure measured" is controlled well by "Fuel pressure set point". But Engine stalls after displaying abnormal "engine speed sensor" data. DTC related with CKPS would be displayed sometimes.
Go to "CKPS inspection" procedure.
