ECTS and IATS should be similar at cold idle.
ECT should be higher than IAT at warm idle.
The purpose of the Inspection is to analyze the cause of engine hesitation by checking ECTS current data measured at various loading condition. Coolant temperature should be higher than intake air temperature at warm idle. If coolant temperature is below 104℉(40℃), not engine stalling but high engine RPM could be detected.
Engine "ON" and allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature.
Connect a scanner to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Check current data.
Specification :

Is current data normal?
YES
ECTS is OK.
NO
Check related harness and Replace the sensor.
