The purpose of the inspection is to check CKPS and CMPS #1(2) signals. If CKPS and CMPS #1(2) have a fault simultaneously, Vehicle applied with Delphi EMS PCM can NOT ignite. If CKPS signal is normal, Go to "CKPS signal is OK Inspection" procedure. If CKPS signal is abnormal, Check CKPS signal circuit, CKPS, and PCM.
Connect a scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
Select oscilloscope function on a scantool.
Connect channel A,B to CKPS and CMPS #1(2) signal harness.
IG "START"
Check CKPS and CMPS signal waveforms.
CH A : Terminal "1(2)" of the CKPS connector
CH B : Terminal "3" of the CMPS #2 connector
CKPS signal waveform is normal,
Go to "CKPS signal is OK Inspection" procedure.
CKPS signal waveform is abnormal,
Check for open or short in CKPS signal circuit
