Check the vehicle speed after connecting a scantool to Data Link Cable(DLC).
If vehicle speed signal does not input to PCM when vehicle is stopped, engine stalls because PCM doesn`t have additional controls of the ignition timing and fuel injection. The purpose of the inspection is to check whether vehicle speed signal input to PCM or not. Wheel sensor signal input to ABS module. ABS module sends this signal to PCM.[EURO-III/IV]
Engine "ON"
Drive the vehicle after lifting the vehicle.
Check the vehicle speed after connecting a scantool to Data Link Cable(DLC).
Is the vehicle speed current data normal?
YES
Vehicle speed signal is OK.
NO
Go to "Vehicle speed signal inspection" procedure as below..
Engine "ON"
Check the waveform of the vehicle speed signal. [Measure terminal "52"(C201-1) of the PCM].
Drive the vehicle after lifting the vehicle.
Is the waveform of the vehicle speed signal normal?
YES
Faulty PCM
NO
Go to "ABS ECM current data Inspection" procedure as below.
Engine "ON"
Drive the vehicle after lifting the vehicle.
Check the wheel speed sensor(ABS ECM) after connecting a scantool to Data Link Cable(DLC).
Is the wheel speed sensor signal normal?
YES
Check the wheel speed sensor(ABS ECM) or Replace the wheel speed senor(ABS ECM).
NO
Wheel sensor signal(FR) input to ABS module. ABS module sends this signal(12V pulse signal) to PCM.
Erase ABS DTC using a scantool after driving the vehicle on a lifter.
