Check current data after connecting a scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC) (A/con S/W off, A/con compressor off).
Fuel consumption is affected by cooling fan when cooling fan is operated always.(Load is applied to engine)
Engine "ON"
Check cooling fan whether it is operated always or not when A/conditioner switch is turned off.(visual Inspection)
Check current data after connecting a scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC) (A/con S/W off, A/con compressor off).
Is cooling fan operated always when A/conditioner switch is turned off. (Refer to cooling fan control logic as below)
YES
Go to "PCM Inspection" as below
NO
Cooling fan is OK
Engine "ON"
Measure waveform between terminal C30-A "65" of the PCM harness connector and chassis ground.
Is the cooling fan controlled normally by PCM ?
YES
Check for harness and Replace the cooling fan motor.
NO
Check for harness and Replace the PCM.
