Go to "Check open in the harness" procedure.
NO

After repairing short to ground in harness and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"
Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
Has a problem been found?
YES
▶ Repair or replace if necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.
■ Check voltage
IG "OFF"
Disconnect MAPS connector.
IG "ON"
Measure the voltage between power terminal of MAPS harness connector and ground.
Specification : Approx. 5V
Is the measured voltage within specification ?
YES
▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" of MAPS.
NO
▶ After repairing open or short to ground in circuits and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"
■ Check short to ground in harness
IG "OFF"
Disconnect MAPS and PCM connector.
Measure the resistance between signal terminal of MAPS harness connector and ground.
Specification : Infinite
Is the measured resistance within the specification?
YES
Go to "Check open in the harness" procedure.
NO
After repairing short to ground in harness and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair"
■ Check open in the harness
IG "OFF"
Disconnect MAPS and PCM connector.
Measure the resistance between signal terminal of MAPS harness connector and MAPS signal terminal of PCM harness connector
Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω
Is the measured resistance within the specification?
YES
Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
NO
Repair open in the harness and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".
