Check for damaged harness and terminals including rubber seals :
-. contact resistance, oxidation, corrosion, bent or broken terminals
-. harness connector connection, loose wires etc.
Check for poor connection between ECM and component :
-. backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks and poor terminal to wire connection
ARE THE WIRES O.K ? & ARE THE CONNECTIONS O.K ?
YES
Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure
NO
Repair as necessary and go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure
DTCs listed below are stored in the scan tool
P1661
Check items with the scan tool and the multimeter
① Wiring harness inspection
② Battery voltage from the ignition fuse (50A) to the cruise lamp
Specification
Resitance : below 1 Ω for open in the wire
Resitance : infinite for short to ground in the wire
Voltage : below 0.5V for short to power in the wire
Battery voltage approx. 12V from the fuse (10A)
Refer to the component and full circuit for connector configrations details
Perform test drive.
Watch the cruise lamp after setting the cruise control switch ON.
IS THERE THE CRUISE LAMP COME ON DURING THE CRUISE CONTROL OPERATION ?
YES
Intermittent failure, system is O.K at this time.
Check for poor connections or losse wire between the fuse No.19 (10A) and the ECM.
Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
Repair open or short in the wire between the fuse No.19(10A) and the ECM terminal 14/C230-1
Check the fuse No.19 (10A) and replace the fuse if the fuse is broken.
Check for a blown cruise control bulb and replace the bulb if the bulb is broken.
Go to step 4
Connect the the ECM terminal 14/C230-1 to the body ground with a jumper wire directly.
IS THERE THE CRUISE LAMP LIGHT ON ?
YES
Go to step 6
NO
Recheck the fuse.
Recheck open or short in the wire between the fuse (10A) and the the ECM terminal 14/C230-1.
Recheck for a blown cruise bulb and replace the bulb if broken.
Go to step 6
Turn the ignition switch ON and check the ground condition with the LED lamp at the ECM terminal 14/C230-1 when turning the cruise control switch ON.
IS THE LED (GREEN) LAMP ON ?
YES
Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
Replace a known - good ECM and recheck. If the LED (green) lamp is ON, replace the ECM.
YES
Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
Make sure that the the auto cruise lamp should be checked from the cluster when the auto cruise in operation with the relation of auto cruise control signals such as a SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch, brake pedal, clucth pedal etc.
