Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
	▶ Go to "EMC Signal Inspection" procedure.

IG key "ON', ENGINE "ON".

Connect 4WD ECM and EMC connector

Monitor signal waveform between EMC+ signal of EMC harness connector and chassis ground.

Is EMC Signal display near the specified value?

	▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or 4WD ECM connector or was repaired and 4WD ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ o to "EMC wiring battery short Inspection" procedure.

IG key "OFF" , ENGINE "OFF".

Disconnect EMC and 4WD ECM connector

IG "ON", ENGINE "OFF".

Measure voltage between EMC+ signal of EMC harness connector and chassis ground

Is voltage display near the specified value?

	▶ Go to "EMC harness open Inspection" procedure.
	▶ Check for short to battery in EMC harness. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

IG key "OFF" , ENGINE "OFF".

Disconnect EMC connector and 4WD ECM connector

Measure resistance between EMC+ singal of EMC harness connector and 4WD ECM harness connector

Is resistance display near the specified value?

	▶ Go to "Component inspection" procedure .
	▶ Check for open in EMC harness. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
