DTC Description

The HECU(Hydraulic and Electronic Control Unit) monitors the wheel speed sensor signal continuously.

This code is set if an abnormal speed change ratio is detected during driving or abormal wheel speed is detected or abormal wheel speed sensor type is detected.

Warning lamp is turned OFF unless additional faults are detected when the IG KEY is turned ON again, and wheel speed is more than predefined speed.

Enable Conditions

Controller counts the number of the wheel acceleration of 100g[(25km/h) for 7ms]. When the numbers at one wheel exceed 56 times, or When the numbers at more two wheels exceed 5 times, controller recognize the failure.

Controller counts the number of the wheel acceleration of 70g[(17.5km/h) for 7ms]. When the numbers at one wheel exceed 126 times, or When the numbers at more two wheels exceed 20 times, controller recognize the failure.

The wheel deceleration of –100g[(-25km/h) for 7ms] causes the controller to start monitoring this failure and to compare the wheel velocity with the vehicle velocity from next cycle. When its difference of -100g is continued for more than 140msec, controller recognize the failure.

Controller counts the occurrence number of the wheel acceleration of ±28g.[(7km/h) for 1ms] If the number exceeds 60 at one wheel, ECU recognize the failure.

- The counter of speed jump is cleared every 30min.

- This monitoring is performed for the period that the velocity of each wheel exceeds 2km/h (1.2 mph).

Case 2

Wrong exciter, missing teeth monitoring

Enable Conditions

In case that three wheel speeds are above 15km/h(9.3 mph)and in specific range and another wheel speed is out of specific range longer than 20 seconds.

In case that two wheel speeds are above 15km/h(9.3 mph)and in specific range and other wheel speed(s) is(are) out of specific range longer than 60 seconds.

In case that Min Wheel Speed is less than 40% of Max Wheel Speed which is over than 20km/h and less than 40km/h for more than 2min.

Case 3

Wheel sensor type mis-installation monitoring

Enable Conditions

A failure is detected if the signal is detected as a smart wheel sensor signal 200 times consecutively on the wheel that is set as active wheel sensor.

A failure is detected if the signal is detected as an invalid signal(is not smart wheel sensor signal) 200 times consecutively on the wheel that is set as smart wheel sensor.

- The failure is detected when wheel speed is 5~60km/h

Fail Safe

One wheel speed sensor fault

- Inhibit the ABS/ESP(ESC)/DBC/AVH control, allow the EBD control

More than 2 wheel speed sensor fault

- All functions are inhibited

MIL

One wheel speed sensor fault

- The ABS/ESP(ESC)/DBC warning lamps are activated. The AVH warning lmap is activated in case of the vehicle equipped with AVH.

More than 2 wheel speed sensor fault

- The EBD/ABS/ESP(ESC)/DBC warning lamps are activated. The AVH warning lmap is activated in case of the vehicle equipped with AVH.

Reset Condition

Below conditions are met for more than 3sec after IG turned on again.

- Minimum wheel speed is faster than 2km/h

- Wheel speeds are between 0.6 X Vmax and 1.4 X Vmin

- Delta wheel speed for 10msec is lower than 2km/h
