Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Disconnect wheel speed sensor (RL) connector.

Measure voltage between power terminal of the wheel speed sensor (RL) harness connector and chassis ground when ignition ON.

Specification : Approx. 12V for a short time. (refer to below waveform)

Is the measured value within specifications?

	▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.
	▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between HECU harness connector and wheel speed sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Disconnect wheel speed sensor (RL) connector.

Measure voltage between signal terminal of wheel speed sensor (RL) harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 0V

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

	▶ Go to next procedure.
	▶ Repair short to battery in signal circuit between HECU harness connector and wheel speed sensor harness connector, and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Disconnect HECU and wheel speed sensor (RL) connector.

Measure resistance between signal terminal of wheel speed sensor (RL) harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. ∞ Ω

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

	▶ Go to next procedure.
	▶ Repair short to ground in signal circuit between HECU harness connector and wheel speed sensor harness connector, and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Disconnect HECU and wheel speed sensor (RL) connector.

Measure resistance between signal terminal of wheel speed sensor (RL) harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. Below 1Ω

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

	▶ Go to next procedure.
	▶ Repair open in signal circuit between HECU harness connector and wheel speed sensor harness connector, and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
