The HECU(Hydraulic and Electronic Control Unit) monitors the signals of the steering angle sensor and if the abnormal signal is detected or the difference between the angle speed calculated from the other sensors and the the angle speed measured from the steering angle sensor is above a certain value, this DTC is set.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Steering angle sensor signal Monitoring | 1. Incorrect istallation 2. Incorrect calibration of steering angle sensor 3. Faulty steering angle sensor |
Enable Conditions | 1. During straight driving, If the steering wheel angle is larger than 55 degree 2. When the steering wheel angle is out of sensor spec 3. When the difference between estimated angle and measured angle of the SAS sensor is lager than 50deg/s, if the fault condition exists uninterrupted for 1.5sec 4. In case that diagnostic signal fault of SAS was happened for more than 100ms within normal voltage condition 5. When the steering wheel angle is under 3deg during left/right curve
Fail Safe |
•
Inhibit the ESP(ESC)/DBC/AVH control and allow the ABS/EBD control
MIL |
•
The ESP(ESC)/DBC warning lamp is activated. The AVH warning lmap is activated in case of the vehicle equipped with AVH.
Reset Condition |
•
1, 3, 5. SAS signal is normal on a driving with left/right turn (vehicle speed is above 20km/h) after IG turned On again
•
2, 4. SAS signal is normal after IG turned On again |
