Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "CAN communication Circuit Inspection" as below.

CAN communication Circuit Inspection
1.

Connect all unit/module's connector.

2.

IG key "ON", Engine "OFF".

3.

Measure the voltage between "B_CAN High" terminal of "SMART JUNCTION BLOCK_IPS CONTROL MODULE"(SJB) harness connector and chassis ground.

4.

Measure the voltage between "B_CAN Low" terminal of SJB harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Below 5V(1.5V~3.5V)

5.

Is the measured value within specifications?

▶ Disconnect B_CAN communication unit/module one by one and monitor DTC to find the cause.

▶ If the DTC erase, substitute with a known-good unit/module and check for proper operation.

▶ If the problem is corrected, replace the unit/module.

▶ Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If the measured value is the battery voltage level(12V),

▶ Repair short between the harness and the battery power.

▶ If the measured value is the ground level(0V),

▶ Repair short between "B-CAN HIGH" line and "B-CAN LOW" line.

▶ Repair open/poor connection in the harness.

▶ Repair short between the harness and the chassis ground.
