Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

![]() | ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" as below. |
IG key "ON", Engine "ON".
Set the shift lever in "R" range, move vehicle slowly to recognize the obstacles.
Perform "Oscilloscope" procedure in the "Vehicle S/W Management" with GDS.
Measure the signal waveform between "LIN LINE" terminal of "REAR PARKING ASSIST SENSOR RH(CENTER)" harness connector and chassis ground.
Does the measured signal waveform follow the reference data?
![]() | ▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in "REAR PARKING ASSIST SENSOR RH(CENTER)"'s connector. → Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. → Repair or replace as necessary, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ If the voltage of measured signal waveform is the battery voltage level(about 12V), → Check for short to battery in the LIN line. → Check for open/poor connection in the LIN line. ▶ If the voltage of measured signal waveform is the ground voltage level(about 0V), → Check for short to ground in the LIN line. ▶ If the signal waveform is abnormal, check for → Check for foreign substance around sensor, trapped sensor rubber. |
