Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "CAN communication Circuit Inspection" as below.

CAN communication Circuit Inspection
1.

IG key "ON", Engine "ON".

2.

Disconnect "BCM" connector and "SMART KEY CONTROL MODULE"(SMK) connector.

3.

Measure the resistance between "B_CAN High" terminal of "BCM" harness connector and "B_CAN High" terminal of SMK harness connector.

4.

Measure the resistance between "B_CAN Low" terminal of "BCM" harness connector and "B_CAN Low" terminal of SMK harness connector.

Specification : Below aprox. 1Ω

5.

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in SMK connector.

→ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

→ Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Repair open/poor connection in the abnormal terminal/harness.

→ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
