Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" mode.

Using a GDS, Clear DTC.

5.

Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" mode again.

6.

Are any DTCs present?

▶ Substitute with a known-good steering column & EPS unit assembly and check for proper operation.

▶ If problem is corrected, replace steering column & EPS unit assembly and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ The DTC code can be set by excessive EPS control in normal system status. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
