Diagnostic Procedure
Ignition coil control circuit Inspecton
1.

IG "OFF"

2.

Disconnect Ignition coil Connector.

3.

IG "ON"

4.

Connect the red tongs of the LED circuit tester to battery(+) and probe of the LED circuit tester to terminal "2" of the ignition coil harness connector.

5.

Perform actuation test of the Ignition coil using a scantool.

6.

Check if the LED circuit tester is lit or not.

7.

Is the LED circuit tester lit or not?

YES

Faulty ignition coil

NO

Repair open circuit or short circuit to chassis ground between ignition coil harness connector and ECM harness connector.
