Engine hesitation, poor acceleration, excessive fuel consumption and Engine stalling could be caused by inaccurate timing of the engine. This purpose of inspection is checking accurate timing of the engine.
Engine "ON" and warm up the engine untill cooling fan is operated.
Connect a scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
Check current data.
Specification :
(1) Normal condition of the timing belt : CMP fall edge : 38 teeth, CMP rise edge : 98 Teeth
- Small tension of the timing belt - Around 1 tooth is difference from normal condition.
- Large tension of the timing belt - Around 3 teeth is difference from normal condition.
(2) Abonormal condition of the timing belt
- Jumping 1tooth across timing mark - Around 5 ~6 teeth is difference from normal condition.
Are current data of the "CMP FALL EDGE / CMP RISE EDGE " OK?
YES
Timing is OK.
NO
Replace the timing belt and Install the timing belt again.
