The purpose of the Inspection is to analyze the cause of engine hesitation. By checking ECTS current data measured at various loading condition. Coolant temperature should be higher than intake air temperature at warm idle. If coolant temperature is below 104 ℉(40 ℃), not engine stalling but high RPM could be detected.
Engine "ON" and warm up the engine until cooling fan is operated.
Connect a scanner to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Check current data.
Specification :
ECTS and IATS should be similar at cold idle.
ECT should be higher than IAT at warm idle.
Is current data normal?
YES
ECTS is OK.
NO
Check related harness and Replace the sensor.
