Check current data after connecting a scanner to Data Link Connector(DLC) (A/con S/W off, A/con comp S/W off).
Fuel consumption is affected by cooling fan when cooling fan is operated always.(Load is applied to engine)
Engine "ON"
Check cooling fan whether it is operated always or not when A/conditioner switch is turned off.(visual Inspection)
Check current data after connecting a scanner to Data Link Connector(DLC) (A/con S/W off, A/con comp S/W off).
Is cooling fan operated always when A/con switch is turned off?
YES
Go to "PCM Inspection" as below
NO
Cooling fan is OK
Engine "ON"
Check the PCM when the cooling fan is operated with LED circuit tester.
Connect probe of the LED circuit tester to terminal "64"(High speed) or "65"(Low speed) of the PCM connector.
Connect tongs of the LED circuit tester to battery(+) voltage
Is PCM control normal?
YES
System is OK
NO
Check the harness and Replace PCM.

☞ Cooling fan is operated by PCM according to coolant temperature [Cooling fan is operated Low speed at 203 °F (coolant temperature) and is operated high speed at 212 °F] and A/conditioner is "ON"
