If soot inside of CPF is increased, Perform "CPF service regeneration" function on the scantool. Exhaust gas temperature is approx. 600℃ when CPF is regenerated. Be careful not to touch the muffler as it may be hot enough to burn you. Never let the vehicle near flammable things. Inspection place must be well ventilated.

If excessive with smoke is discharged through muffler when CPF is regenerated, Stop the CPF service regeneration function immediately. Do not inhale exhaust fumes. If low quality diesel fuel (constituent of sulfur is above 50 ppm) is used, Excessive aluminum sulfur is discharged by high chemical reaction.

CPF regeneration is to forcibly regenerate the CPF with scantool when the CPF doesn"t have been regenerated during driving. If there are much soot in the CPF after repairing engine system, Perform CPF regeneration also. If there is a problem in the engine, CPF regeneration is not performed. Therefore repair the problem in the engine first. If possible, perform CPF regeneration after driving because exhaust system is hot enough.

※ If temperature of exhaust system is not increased because of low outside temperature or rain, CPF regeneration can be fail.

Press "ENTER" key after reading guidance on the scantool.

- A/CON and electrical system (head lamp, defroster) must be "ON" for engine road.

Engine speed is up to 2000 rpm and start the "Heat up step"

- "Temperature oxidation catalyst" and "Exhaust gas temperature" data is up to 600℃ slowly.

Engine speed is 2000 rpm continuously and enter the "regeneration step"

- "Temperature oxidation catalyst" and "Exhaust gas temperature" data is approx. 600℃ (up and down).

According to accumulated soot quantity, CPF is regenerated for 10~20 minutes. Engine speed is returned to normal after CPF regeneration.
