Check burglar alarm relay connecting and disconnecting the burglar alarm relay.
If burglar alarm relay works with the START positon of the ignition key, Starter would not operated. The purpose of the inspection is to check the burglar alarm relay.
Ignition "START"
Check burglar alarm relay connecting and disconnecting the burglar alarm relay.
Is burglar alarm relay operated?
YES
Check short circuit to chassis ground between burglar alarm relay signal circuit and ETACM harness connector.
Faulty ETACS
Because burglar alarm relay is NC(Normal Close) relay type, Burglar alarm relay is not operated.
NO
Go to "Power Circuit of burglar alarm relay Inspection"procedure.
IG "OFF"
Disconnect connect burglar alarm relay.
IG "START"
Measure voltage between "5" terminal of the burglar alarm relay(I/P relay box side) and chassis ground.
Probe(+) : "5" terminal of the burglar alarm relay(I/P relay box side)
Probe(-) : chassis ground
Specification : Approx.B+
Is the voltage within Specification?
YES
Check open circuit "4" terminal of the burglar alarm relay(I/P relay box) and "2" terminal of the start relay(E/R fuse & relay box)
Check Transaxle Range Switch.
NO
Check open circuit between Ignition switch and "5" terminal of the burglar alarm relay(I/P relay box)
