Because the vehicle applied with Siemens EMS ECM can`t ignite when CKP and CMP are faulty at the same time. Inspect the signal waveforms of CKP and CMP first. So, if they are normal, Go to "CKP and CMP signal is OK Inspection" procedure. Otherwise, go to "CKP and CMP signal is bad Inspection" procedure.
Connect a scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
Select oscilloscope function on a scantool.
Connect CH A, B to CKP & CMP sensor signal harness
CH A : Terminal "2" of the CKP sensor connector
CH B : Terminal "2" of the CMP sensor connector
Turn the ignition switch to the "START" position.
Check CKP & CMP signal waveforms.
Are CKP & CMP signal waveforms normal,
Go to "CKP+CMP signal is OK Inspection" procedure.
Are CKP & CMP signal waveforms abnormal,
Go to "CKP+CMP signal is bad Inspection" procedure.
