Description

Check the ignition spark on the spark plug cables. If there is ignition spark , go to "Possible Ignition Inspection" procedure. If there is no ignition spark, go to "Impossible Ignition Inspection" procedure. Also,check the ignition spark using scan tool and engine cranking.

Diagnostic Procedure
Ignition Spark Inspection Using Scantool
1.

Connect a scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).

2.

IG "ON"

3.

Perform the actuation test of ignition coil using a scantool.

4.

Check the ignition spark at the spark plug cable.

5.

Is there ignition spark?

YES

Go to "Possible Ignition Inspection" procedure.

NO

Go to "Impossible Ignition Inspection" procedure.

Remove the ignition spark plug

7.

IG "START"

caution

1. Engine cranking time should not over 5 to 10 second.

2. Remove the 15A injector fuse at the "E/R fuse & relay box" to prevent the fuel injection from the injector while engine cranking.

Check the ignition spark at the spark plug.

9.

Is there ignition spark on the spark plug?

YES

Go to "Possible Ignition Inspection" procedure.

NO

Go to "Impossible Ignition Inspection" procedure.
