In case that engine stalls suddenly, Inspect power supply circuit open or poor connection related with ECM. Inspect fuse and fusible link blown or poor connection related with engine starting in the engine compartment junction block.
Case 1 :
In case of INJ fuse (15A) blown at ENGINE "ON", DTCs are displayed as below.
- "P0047 VGT vacuum modulator circuit low"
- "P0340 Camshaft position sensor A circuit malfunction"
- "P0489 Exhaust gas recirculation control circuit low voltage"
- "P0670 Glow relay circuit malfunction"
- "P2113 Throttle/Pedal position sensor "B" minimum stop performance(not APS but position sensor of ETCS)"
Vehicle can not be accelerated above 3,000 rpm at neutral and Stall rpm can not be above 1,600 rpm.
In case of Injector fuse (15A) blown at IG KEY "ON" and cranking,
- "P0047 VGT vacuum modulator circuit low"
- "P0489 Exhaust gas recirculation control circuit low voltage"
- "P0670 Glow relay circuit malfunction"
- "P0341 Camshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance"
- "P2112 Throttle control actuator circuit low"
- "P2113 Throttle/Pedal position sensor "B" minimum stop performance(not APS but position sensor of ETCS)"
Engine starting is impossible.
Injector fuse (15A) blown : Replace fuse. If fuse is blown again, Repair power circuit of CMPS, EGR solenoid valve, TPS, VGT solenoid valve and glow relay short to ground.
Injector fuse (15A) is normal : Repair open or poor connection in circuit related with fuse.
Case 2 :
In case of sensor fuse (10A) blown at ENGINE "ON", DTCs are displayed as below.
- "P0031 Lambda sensor heater circuit low (Bank 1 / Sensor 1)"
- "P0504 Brake pedal position A/B correlation"
There is no symptom such as poor acceleration, engine stalls.
In case of sensor fuse (10A) blown at IG KEY "ON" and cranking, DTCs are displayed as below.
- "P0504 Brake pedal position A/B correlation"
- "P1690 Immobilizer smartra error"
Engine starting is impossible.
Sensor fuse (10A) blown : Replace fuse. If fuse is blown again, Repair power circuit of Lambda sensor heater, brake switch2 short to ground.
Sensor fuse (10A) is normal : Repair open or poor connection in circuit related with fuse.
Case 3 :
In case of ECU fusible link (30A) blown at ENGINE "ON", Engine stalls immediately.
DTC is not displayed and communication between ECM and scantool is impossible because main relay is not operated.
ECU fusible link (30A) is blown. : Replace fusible link. If fusible link is blown again, Repair power circuit of engine control relay "ON" short to ground.
ECU fusible link (30A) is normal. : Go to "Main relay circuit inspection" procedure.
Case 4 :
In case of Ignition fusible link (40A) blown at ENGINE "ON", Engine stalls immediately.
- DTC is not displayed and communication between ECM and scantool is impossible because main relay is not operated.
- Indicator lamps on the instrument cluster can not be turn on.
Ignition fusible link (40A) is blown : Replace fusible link. If fusible link is blown again, Repair IG1 power circuit short to ground.
Ignition fusible link (40A) is normal : Go to "IG KEY "ON" signal inspection" procedure.
Case 5 :
In case of fuse 33 on the I/P junction box (10A) blown at ENGINE "ON", Engine stalls immediately.
DTC is not displayed and communication between ECM and scantool is impossible because main relay is not operated.
Fuse 33 on the I/P junction box (10A) is blown : Replace fuse. If fuse is blown again, Repair power circuit of MAFS or IG KEY "ON" signal short to ground.
Fuse 33 on the I/P junction box (10A) is normal : Go to "IG KEY "ON" signal inspection" procedure.
