Place the shift lever in "N" position.
When engine cranking is impossible continuously or intermittently at shift lever "P" and "N", Inspect the inhibitor switch before starting circuit inspection.
IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF"
Remove the battery.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Remove the battery tray.
Place the shift lever in "N" position.
Inspect shift cable position. (Shift cable would be located near center of the hole of ATA manual control lever.)
- Inspect shift cable whether it is fixed or not. (Check the 12 mm nut and cable bending)
Inspect ATA manual control lever position. (8mm hole of the ATA manual control lever is located on the 8mm hole of the inhibitor switch exactly.)
Case 1 : In case that 8mm hole of the ATA manual control lever is located on the 8mm hole of the inhibitor switch exactly but engine cranking is impossible.
Go to "Starting circuit inspection" procedure.
Case 2 : In case that 8mm hole of the ATA manual control lever is not located on the 8mm hole of the inhibitor switch exactly.
Go to "Inhibitor switch adjustment" as below.
IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF"
Remove the battery.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Remove the battery tray.
Place the shift lever in "N" position.
Loosen the 12 mm bolt for moving of the shift cable and ATA manual control lever.
Loosen two 10 mm bolts for moving inhibitor switch.
Fasten two 10 mm bolts of the inhibitor switch after adjusting 8mm hole of the inhibitor switch to match 8 mm hole of the ATA manual lever.
Fasten 12 mm bolt of the shift cable after adjusting shift cable. (Shift cable would be located naturally near center of the hole of ATA manual control lever.)
Tightening torque : 1.0~1.4Kgf.m
Case 1 : In case that 8mm hole of the ATA manual control lever is located on the 8mm hole of the inhibitor switch exactly but engine cranking is impossible.
Go to "Starting circuit inspection" procedure.
Case 2 : In case that engine cranking is possible after adjusting inhibitor switch.
According to symptom, Go to "Symptom analysis" procedure.
