First of all check damage of harness and terminals : Check terminals for contact resistance, corrosion and deformation.
Impossible starting, engine stalling, engine hesitation would be caused by low fuel pressure. Inspect fuel pump relay and fuel pump control circuit (open, short and poor connection).
IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF"
Remove the fuel pump relay.
Measure the votage of the terminal on the E/R compratment junction box.
Case 1 : In case that battery power is supplied at all terminal.
Go to "Fuel pump power supply inspection" procedure as below.
Case 2 : In case that battery power is not supplied at terminal "1".
Repair ECU fusible link (30A) blown on the E/R fuse & relay box and poor connection in power circuit related with joint connector (E18).
If fusible link is blown again, Repair short to ground between fuel pump relay connector (E14) terminal "2" and fuel pump connector (F22) terminal "3".
Case 3 : In case that battery power is not supplied at terminal "5" (IG KEY "ON").
Repair open or poor connection related with joint connector (E18) on the E/R fuse & relay box connector.
Inspect the main relay (engine control relay).
If main relay (engine control relay) is not operated, Go to "main relay circuit inspection" procedure.
Case 4 : In case abnormal voltage at terminal "3" (IG KEY "ON").
- Specification : Approx. 3.5 V
DTC "P0231 Fuel pump secondary circuit low" would be displayed.
Repair open circuit between fuel pump relay connector (E14) terminal "3" and ECM connector (C330-1) terminal "45".
IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF"
Remove the fuel pump relay.
Before measuring resistance, you must calibrate(0Ω) the tester.
Measure the voltage between fuel pump relay terminal "2" and chassis ground.
"Multitester Calibration" of "Details Inspection(Equipment Setting)" reference
Specification : Continuity (below 5.0 Ω)(20℃) (Resistance can be changed by motor coil temperature in the fuel pump)
Case 1 : In case of discontinuity (Infinite Ω),
Repair open circuit between E/R fuse & relay connector (E14) terminal "2" and fuel pump connector (F22) terminal "3".
Repair open circuit between fuel pump connector F22 terminal "2" and chassis ground (G14).
Repair open in the inside of fuel pump.
Case 2 : In case of high resistance,
Repair high resistance in the fuel pump.
Repair poor connection between E/R fuse & relay connector (E14) terminal "2" and fuel pump connector (F22) terminal "3".
Repair poor connection between fuel pump connector F22 terminal "2" and chassis ground (G14).
In case of poor connection, Go to "Fuel pump current inspection" procedure for detail inspection.
