Component Inspection
1.Check Immoblizer Indicator Control
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect ECM connector

3.

Ignition "ON" and Engine "OFF"

4.

Measure voltage between terminal 17 of ECM harness connector and chassis ground.

a.

Specification : Approx. 11 V

5.

Is the measured voltage within specifications ?

YES

a.

Go to " Check Immobilizer indicator bulb" as below

NO

a.

Check for short to battery in the control circuit.

b.

Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

2.Check Immobilizer Bulb

Ignition " OFF"

7.

Disconnect ECM connector

8.

Jump between terminal 17 of ECM harness connector and Chassis ground with jumper wire.

a.

Specification : Immobilizer lamp "ON’

9.

Is the Immobilizer indicator lamp turned "ON" ?

YES

a.

Substitute with a known-good ECM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected,replace ECM and then go to " Verification of Vehicle repair" procedure

caution

1. Don’t forget to prepare for the PIN of the vehicle before removing ECM from the vehicle.

2. Remember that substituting with a known-good ECM should be followed "The things to remember before repair(1) in "Reference Data in General Information"(In case of faulty ECM, it has to be replaced with "VIRGIN" or " NEUTRAL" ECM.)

3. Strongly recommend to register PIN which is given by HMC or the regional office when replacing a new ECM.

a.

Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
