When lifting up or downing the vehicle, be sure to place blocks between the vehicle and lifter to prevent fuel tank from being damaged.

1.

Remove the mufflers and the Catalyzed Particulate Filter (CPF) assembly passing under the fuel tank (Refer to group "EM" in this Shop Manual).

2.

Remove the propeller-shaft (For 4WD only).

3.

Remove the rear seat (Refer to group "BD" in this Shop Manual).

4.

Open the service covers (A,B).

5.

Disconnet the fuel pump connector (A), the fuel feed quick-connector (B) and the return hose (C).

6.

Disconnect the sub fuel sender connector (A).

7.

Lift the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a jack, and then remove the two fuel tank band (A).

8.

Remove the four parking brake line mounting bolts (A) in LH and RH side.

9.

Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A), the fuel leveling hose (B) and the ventilation hose (C).

10.

Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle with setting down the jack.
