GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Measuring the ATF(Automatic Transaxle Fluid) temperature with a thermistor, use the signal as hydraulic control information when detecting damper clutch working condition, variable control with oil temperature and shifting.

DTC DESCRIPTION

When the signal voltage from an oil temperature is lower than 0.49V for 1 second, this code will set.

TERMINAL & CONNECTOR INSPECTION
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system may be caused from poor harness and terminals. These faults can be caused by interference from other electrical systems and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to the next procedure.

POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT INSPECTION
1.

Power Supply Circiut Inspection

IG KEY ON, ENG OFF

(2)

Oil temperature sensor: Disconnect

(3)

Measure voltage between terminal 1 of oil temperature sensor connector and chassis ground

Specification : 4.5V~5.5V

Is voltage display near the specified value?

▶ Go to the "Component Inspection".

▶ Proceed next inspection procedure.

2.

Sensor signal open circuit inspection

IG KEY OFF, ENG OFF

(2)

Oil temperature sensor connector and ECM(or PCM) connector: Disconnect

Specification : Approx. 1Ω below.

Is resistance display near the specified value?

▶ Proceed next inspection procedure

▶ Repair open circuit between the terminal 1 of the oil temperature sensor connector and the terminal 14(or 26) of the ECM(or PCM) connector.

SIGNAL CIRCUIT INSPECTION
1.

Sensor signal short circuit inspection

IG KEY OFF, ENG OFF

Oil temperature sensor connector and ECM(or PCM) connector: Disconnect

(3)

Measure resistance between terminal 1 of oil temperature sensor harness connector and chassis ground .

Specification : Approx. ∞Ω

Is resistance display near the specified value?

▶ Go to the "Component inspection".

▶ Repair short circuit between the terminal 1 of the oil temperature sensor connector and chassis ground.

COMPONENT INSPECTION
1.

IG KEY OFF, ENG OFF

Oil temperature sensor connector : Disconnect

3.

Measure resistance between terminal 1 and 2 of oil temperature sensor harness connector.

Specification : Resistance specification for temperature

Is resistance display near the specified value?

▶ Oil temperature sensor OK

▶ Replace the oil temperature sensor.
