On start up, the A/C Control Unit will reference the Engine Temperature Sensor (ETS) signal through the CAN line. If the Engine Temperature is low the A/C Control Unit will change to DEF Mode.
DTC B1687 sets if the ETS signal has not been received through the CAN signal.
