The steering angle sensor has a function to sense a steering angle and a velocity of a steering wheel.
The procedure is as follows : A drive turns a steering wheel → Main/Sub-gear turns → Rotation angle senses → A steering angle is calculated. The EPS(MDPS=Motor Driving Power Steering) CM uses signals of steering angle sensor and controls for its restoring and damping control.
If the signal of main/sub sensor is out of a normal range, the EPS (MDPS=Motor Driving Power Steering)CM sets DTC C1290.
