1. Ignition "OFF”
Disconnect the connector of mode control actuator.
Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defrost mode when connecting 12V to the terminal 3and grounding terminal 7.
Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode when connecting in the reverse

Check the voltage between terminals 5 and 6.

Close | 0.3 ± 0.15V | Low voltage :0.1V or less |
Open | 4.7 ± 0.15V | High voltage :4.9V or more |
It will feedback current position of actuator to controls.
If the measured voltage is not specification, substitute with a known-good mode control actuator and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace the mode control actuator.
Remove the side cover (A).
Loosen the mounting nut and clip remove the extension cover (A).
Disconnect the guide (B), from the glove box (C) and then remove the glove box left (A).
Disconnect the pin (A) and then remove the glove box (B).
Loosen the mounting screw, and then remove the crash pad panel (A).
Loosen the mounting bolts and screws and then remove the glove box housing (A).
Remove the shower duct (A).
Disconnect the auto defogging actuator connector (A).
Loosen the mounting screw and then remove the auto defogging actuator (B).
Install in the reverse order of removal.
