Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" as below.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

IG key "OFF", disconnect battery (-) terminal.

2.

Disconnect SJB connector and "FRONT FOG LAMP RH, LH" connector.

3.

Measure resistance between "FRONT FOG LAMP RH" terminal of "SMART JUNCTION BOX" harness connector and chassis ground.

4.

Measure resistance between "FRONT FOG LAMP LH" terminal of "SMART JUNCTION BOX" harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification: infinity

5.

Is the measured resistance within specification?

▶ Substitute with a known-good SJB and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the SJB and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Repair short to ground in "FRONT FOG LAMP RH, LH" circuit, and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
