Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor connection. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to Next procedure.

C-CAN communication line Inspection
■ Check short to ground in CAN communication line
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Connect all related module connectors.

3.

Measure resistance between CAN high terminal of diagnostic connector and chassis ground.

4.

Measure resistance between CAN low terminal of diagnostic connector and chassis ground.

Specification : infinity Ω

■ Check short to battery in CAN communication line.
5.

Ignition OFF

6.

Connect all related module connectors.

7.

Ignition ON

8.

Measure voltage between CAN high terminal of diagnostic connector and chassis ground.

9.

Measure voltage between CAN low terminal of diagnostic connector and chassis ground.

Specification : below 5V

■ Check Open in CAN communication line.
10.

IG KEY OFF.

11.

Disconnect TPMS Module connector and ECM(PCM) connector.

12.

13.

Measure the resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of TPMS Module harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of ECM(PCM) harness connector.

Specification : below 1Ω

14.

Is the measured value within specification ?

▶ Check ECM,TPMS Module connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
