An operating motor is used to support the driving force of steering wheel when the wheel is turned(rotated) by the driver. The operating motor (a brush type DC motor) is installed in middle of steering column and operates the steering column. The EPS motor can be damaged during disassembly or removal of the operating motor, so you must disassemble or remove the EPS motor with the assembly.
This DTC refers to failure or insufficent current, in motor, during EPS CM (MDPS=Motor Driving Power Steering) control of the motor. This code is set if current under 2A is detected, in motor, due to open/short of EPS motor control harness, faulty contact or short in motor inside.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Current check | 1. Short in ground circuit 2. Short in control circuit 3. Contact resistance in connections. 4. Faulty EPS Motor 5. Faulty EPS CM |
