Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect torque sensor connector and EPS CM connector.

3.

Measure resistance between terminal torque sensor harness connector and terminal EPS CM harness connector. (Rm, Resistance value of main sensor harness).

4.

Measure resistance between terminal torque sensor harness connector and terminal EPS CM harness connector. (Rs, Resistance value of sub sensor harness).

Specification : Approx. 0 Ω

5.

Is the resistance measured within specifications?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Thoroughly check connectors (which measuring value is high or low) for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
