Terminal & Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "MIL circuit inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ Check Open or short in power circuit

IG KEY "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Cluster connector.

3.

IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF"

4.

Measure the voltage between power terminal of Cluster harness connector and chassis ground.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Control circuit inspection" procedure.

▶ Check the fuse(CLUSTER 10A) between Battery and Engine MIL.

▶ Repair Open or Short in power circuit, and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Control Circuit Inspection
■ Check Open or short in control circuit

IG KEY "OFF".

2.

Disconnect ECM connector.

3.

IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF"

4.

Measure the voltage between warning lamp control terminal of ECM harness connector and chassis ground.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Component inspection" procedure.

▶ Check the MIL bulb.

▶ Repair Open or Short in control circuit, and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
