Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Check serial commuication Cricuti Inspection" as follow.

"IG KEY OFF".

2.

Disconnect SMK unit connector and ECM connector.

3.

Measure resistance between serial communication signal terminal of ECM harness connector and chassis ground.

Specificatin : Infinite (∞)

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

	▶ Go to open in harness as follow.
	▶ Check short to ground in harness. And then, repair or replace as necessary. Finally, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

IG KEY OFF.

Disconnect Smartkey Module connector and ECM connector.

7.

Measure resistance between signal terminal of SMK Unit harness connector and signal terminal of ECM harness connector.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Check poor connection between harness connector and Smartkey Module or ECM :

Thoroughly check the looseness, poor connection, bent, corrison, contamination, deformation or damage of connector. Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If the system is repaired by replacing the Smart Key Unit (PIC IMMO Unit), ECM, replace the unit.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ After replacing SMK unit, perform Key teaching procedure with scantool.

▶ Check open in signal harness. And, repair or replace as necessary then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
