Component Inspection

■ Check Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer)

Ignition "OFF"

Disconnect Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) and A/C control Module main harness connector.

Connect (+) terminal of battery to WARM(+) of Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) and (-) terminal to COOL(-) .(Component side)

Verify that the temperature actuator operates to the WARM position.

Verify that the temperature actuator operates to the COOL position with reverse connecting.(COOL(+) and WARM(-) ) .(Component side)

Specification : Refer the specifications in Fig.1)

Is "Door position" display near the specified value?

	▶ Go to Next procedure.
	▶ Substitute with a known-good Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

■ Check Potentiometer

Ignition "OFF"

Connect Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) and A/C control Module main harness connector.

Ignition "ON"

Measure voltage between Signal(F/B) terminal of Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) harness connector and Sensor ground(-) terminal of A/C control Module harness connector .(Component side)

Specification : Refer the specifications in Fig.2)

Is "voltage" display near the specified value?

	▶ Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Substitute with a known-good Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Driver Temperature Actuator(Air mix potentiometer) and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
