Disconnect the battery negative terminal (A).

Tightening torque:

(-) terminal (without battery sensor): 7.8 ~ 9.8N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2lb-ft)

(-) terminal (with battery sensor): 4.0 ~ 6.0N.m (0.4 ~ 0.6kgf.m, 3.0 ~ 4.4lb-ft)

Disconnect the breather hose (B), air intake hose (C) and then remove the air cleaner assembly (D).

Tightening torque

Hose clamp bolt:

2.9 ~ 4.9N.m (0.3 ~ 0.5kgf.m, 2.2 ~ 3.6lb-ft)

Air cleaner assembly bolts:

7.8 ~ 11.8N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2lb-ft)

Remove the LH/RH under covers (A).

Tightening torque:

6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)

Loosen the drain plug and drain the coolant. Open the radiator cap to make rapid draining.

Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Serious scalding could be caused by hot fluid under high pressure escaping from the radiator.

Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from cylinder head and the intake manifold.

Disconnect the oil control valve(OCV) connector (A) and alternator connector (B).

Disconnect the air conditioning compressor connector (C).

(3)

Remove the ignition coil harness mounting bolts (D).

(4)

Disconnect the MAP sensor connector (F) and the knock sensor bracket (E).

(5)

Disconnect the front (A) and the rear (B) oxygen sensor connector.

(6)

Disconnect the ignition coil condenser connector (C) and the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) connector (D).

Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECTS) connector (E).

Disconnect the electronic throttle control (ETC) connector (A).

Disconnect the vapor hose (B) and the throttle body coolant hoses (C).

Remove the oil level gauge assembly.

Tightening torque :

9.8 ~ 11.8N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7lb-ft)

Remove the intake manifold assembly (A).

Tightening torque :

18.6 ~ 23.5N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4lb-ft)
