Start engine to normal operating temperature and monitor the "ECT SENSOR" parameter on scantool.
After the engine has started, Check that ECT rises steadly to about 90°C(194°F) and ECT stabilizes when the thermostat opens.

Is ECT sensor’s signal near the specified value?
YES
Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector.
Fault was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared.
If the problem works out, Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
Go to "Inspection & Repair" procedure.
